The PM task library

A reference for the reusable maintenance task library: what a task holds, how tasks are scoped to tooling classes, and how they feed maintenance plan checklists.

The task library lives at /tool/preventive-maintenance/task-library and holds reusable maintenance checklist tasks. It exists so common checklist work is written once and reused across preventive maintenance plans instead of being retyped per plan.

What a task holds

A task carries a task title, written instructions and an optional tooling class scope. Tasks without a class are grouped under All tooling classes in the register, so class-specific and general tasks stay easy to tell apart.

The register

The register shows the reusable tasks grouped by tooling class, with search and an active, archived or all filter. Open a task to review its instructions, update workflow details and archive or restore it. Tasks that are in use by plans are marked apart from unused ones.

Feeding plan checklists

When you add a checklist task to a maintenance plan, you choose between a new task and one from the task library. Pulling from the library copies the task title and instructions into the plan checklist. A new task typed into a plan can also be saved back to the library for reuse in other plans.

Who maintains it

Anyone with VoraTool access can view the library. Creating, editing, archiving and restoring tasks needs the maintenance management permission.
